Educational Biography
Dr. Melissa K. Gerber, OTD, OTR/L is an Occupational Therapist and has been practicing for the past 25 years. After graduating from the University at Buffalo in 1994 with a Bachelors of Science, she began her career at NYU Medical Center-Rusk Institute. She worked with adults in inpatient, outpatient and acute care. She gained pediatric experience at RUSK Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine while working in inpatient, outpatient and acute care. She has worked for several agencies as well to provide therapy as well as evaluations. In 2001, she began working for Great Neck Public Schools, where she currently works now. In 2011 she graduated with her Master in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University and soon after went on to complete her doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2016. Dr. Gerber presents at two day workshops across the country on Visual Processing, Visual Perceptual and Visual Motor Skills through Education Resources Inc. She presents one day workshops for Therapeutic Services Inc. on Treatment Strategies for OTs and PTs to Align Motor Needs with Educational Concepts. She is a dynamic and interactive speaker who truly love what she does.
